This two (2) days training program uses the knowledge of industrial noise control and acoustics to put the rules to design reactive and absorptive (dissipative) exhaust mufflers. Reactive mufflers use reflections of sound energy at the discontinuities in the exhaust mufflers to attenuate the exhaust sound, while absorptive mufflers use an absorptive material that absorb sound. In diesel engine exhaust system sound is normally higher at lower frequency than at the higher frequencies. The design of the exhaust mufflers must consider these facts.
This training concentrate on the methodology of design and how to optimize them by using combined reactive and absorptive type together supported with exercises
